16° congresso internazionale ISECS, Roma, 3-7 luglio 2023 – The 16th Congress of the International Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (ISECS), the world’s largest meeting of specialists on all aspects of the eighteenth century which takes place every four years. This year, the conference is organised by the Italian Society for Eighteenth Century Studies, and hosted by Sapienza University of Rome and the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. The Congress theme is Antiquity and the Shaping of the Future in the Age of Enlightenment, which is perfectly in line with the spirit of a city, Rome, that embodies the dialogue between Antiquity and Modernity in the 18th century.
